Before come you should know

It is very important to be well acclimatized to the altitude before hiking. We recommend that you arrive in Cusco at least two or three days before beginning any hike above 4,000 meters above sea level (13,123.36 feet). Therefore, it is advisable to rest for at least half a day or a day upon arrival in Cusco and begin following the recommended itinerary, such as tours around Cusco, the Sacred Valley, or Machu Picchu.

We recommend drinking muña mate, which is good for digestion and altitude sickness. You've likely already been to another high-altitude area of Peru before arriving in Cusco. In this case, we recommend taking a full day to rest in Cusco to recover from your trip and enjoy the sights and sounds of Cusco before setting off on your hike.

Here are some suggested activities to do around Cusco before you begin your adventure hike.
